NHS worker Barbara Dickie has retired after 27 years in the general office at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.

She started in 1981 as a part-time clerical officer and cash collector and eventually became full-time and office supervisor.

In retirement from her full-time role, Barbara, of Crosland Moor, plans to work two days a week in the office at Calderdale Royal Hospital.

She will also spend time with her two-year-old grandson Ben, keeping fit and enjoying her spare time.

She said: “I will miss everybody, but I am happy to keep up the links with the hospital through working at Calderdale.”

Colleagues presented her with a gold, diamond and pearl necklace and a bouquet.
