Pop the question on bus

BUS company Arriva is offering Huddersfield people an unusual option for popping the question on Valentine’s Day.

Arriva Yorkshire plans to offer a special ‘love bus’ to romantic Romeos who want to propose marriage on February 14.

The bus will come complete with chocolates, champagne, cherubs, hearts and flowers and will have its destination sign personalised to carry the message ‘Will you marry me?’.

Chloe Leach, marketing manager for Arriva Yorkshire, said the stunt was inspired by the fact that people are seeking out more unusual locations to make proposals.

She said: “The actual place you ask someone to marry you is very important and, in recent years, people have striven to make the most unusual proposals.

“We’re going to inject a bit of romance into Huddersfield with our love bus. We want to hear from people who are planning to ask someone to marry them on February 14 and we will work with them to set up the special event.”

She said she hoped that the love bus idea will help some happy couples tie the knot.

“If we have any successful proposals, we will of course be on hand to help with transport to the wedding!”

If you are hoping your partner will say ‘I do’ on Valentine’s Day, you can find out more about the love bus by emailing Arriva at love@arriva.co.uk
