HAVE we become blasé about foul-mouthed language?
A nationwide survey has revealed that the majority of Brits are not offended by swearing in an adult context.
Indeed, many confessed to swearing on a regular, daily basis – proving the nation has become more relaxed about crude language.
The survey asked 2,319 people if they were offended by cursing and only 8% said yes. Some 94% of people between the ages of 18-30 agreed that swearing is no longer an issue in society and 78% of people admitted to swearing in general conversation for no reason.
Men were found to swear more than women with 90% confessing to swearing compared to 83% of women surveyed. But the trend has saddened an “old fashioned” Huddersfield MP Barry Sheerman.
He said: “We had trendy middle class BBC types who think using the F-word on TV is OK. It is not.
