Woman knocked to the floor by two men in robbery

A YOUNG woman was dragged to the floor and hit on the head by two men in Dewsbury.

The 22-year-old was robbed and tackled to the ground by the men as they tried to steal her phone.

The incident happened on Thursday, January 15, at the junction of Lower Peel Street and Bradford Road at around 9.45pm.

One of the men approached the young woman and demanded her phone before dragging her to the floor. The victim attempted to flee the scene but was again tackled to the floor.

She hit her head as she tried to struggle free and ring the doorbell of a nearby theatre.

Police are looking for a white man, aged around 18 years old, approximately 5ft 2ins tall, with dark shaved hair and slim. He wore a dark coloured tracksuit.

The second white man is also said to be aged 18, but had a bigger build and wore a khaki-coloured baseball hat with a cream jacket.
