Asbo hearings for Lowerhouses yobs
Jan 27 2009 by Joanne Douglas, Huddersfield Daily Examiner
THE antics of two Lowerhouses teenagers forced residents to move, a court heard.
The 14-year-old boys, who cannot be named for legal reasons, allegedly made life unbearable for residents.
Neighbours claimed the boys congregated outside their homes, nailed wheeled bin lids shut, smashed glass bottles against their homes and kicked a football against the walls of their homes, doors and windows.
The boys appeared before Huddersfield Magistrates’ Court yesterday for their anti-social behaviour order (Asbo) application hearing.
Catherine Lee, 22, and her partner Philip Cook moved away from the Lowerhouses estate with their young son because of the problems.
Ms Lee, a part time student, said that on May 11 last year, 15 youths congregated outside her former home on Fanny Moor Crescent.
“My partner asked them to leave. I didn’t go out because I was too scared.”
