Foreign Secretary David Miliband visits Kirklees to answer questions on Gaza

FOREIGN Secretary David Miliband paid a flying visit to Kirklees to answer questions about the situation in Gaza.
Batley West councillors had written to him calling for him to apply pressure to bring about a permanent cease-fire and allow humanitarian aid to be delivered promptly to people in desperate need in Gaza.
The Foreign Secretary said that the Israeli military action was disproportionate and the British government had called for a cease-fire.
Clr Shabir Pandor said: “The message we gave the Foreign Secretary was loud and clear and it was a great opportunity for us to express the views of many thousands of people and an opportunity for him to listen first hand to the views and feeling of local people”
