New plea for witness to New Year's Eve crash

POLICE have made a fresh plea for help after a teenager was badly hurt in a crash.

The 19-year-old man’s car crashed at Heybeck Lane, Woodkirk, near Dewsbury, on New Year’s Eve.

Police say the driver of a car heading the other way may have vital information.

The injured man’s Vauxhall Corsa was travelling along Heybeck Lane towards Leeds Road at 3.25pm when it hit a garden wall, overturning and ending up on its roof.

Police want to speak to the driver of dark-coloured Volkswagen Beetle convertible travelling in the opposite direction towards Wakefield.

It is thought the car stopped for a time and that the woman driver may have witnessed the incident.
