Partnership opens doors to the public

THE Kirklees Environment Partnership is to hold its annual general meeting on Saturday, and the public are invited to attend to find out more about its work.

The meeting will take place at the National Children’s Centre, Brian Jackson House, New North Parade, Huddersfield, from 12.30pm to 3.30pm.

The partnership will also be looking at the activities of communities who are trying to address issues such as declining resources and climate change.

At the meeting the Kirklees Climate Change Action Plan currently in development, will be introduced.

The plan aims to reduce carbon emissions in Kirklees and to identify ways for coping with the effects of climate change.

The Environment Partnership was formed in 2002 and now has membership representing over 60 public, private and voluntary bodies and provides an independent voice for the environment in Kirklees.

It aims to support and enable a coordinated approach to environmental projects

across Kirklees and to promote environmental education and training, sharing good practice.
