Purse stolen by knifeman in distinctive coat
Jan 27 2009 by Andrew Hirst, Huddersfield Daily Examiner
A WOMAN was robbed at knifepoint in Taylor Hill.
The victim – who wore a distinctive coat – was on Close Hill Lane near its junction with Blagden Lane and Barcroft Road when the mugger struck.
He demanded her purse which she handed over when she realised he had the knife.
Now detectives are keen to speak to anyone who can name the thief or who was in the area when the robbery happened at 6.10pm on Friday and saw what happened.
The knifeman is white, in his late 30s and slightly-built with dark eyebrows.
He wore a thick, grey padded cotton coat with black circles all over it, dark jeans and dark trainers.
Det Ins Russ Conlon from Kirklees CID’s intelligence unit said: “This coat is very distinctive and we hope someone will recognise the suspect from it and be able to name him.”
