Sanam Navsarka murder trial: Image shows Sanam's suffering

Sanam Navsarka's injuries

MURDER accused Subhan Anwar told a 999 operator that dying toddler Sanam Navsarka had no injuries, a court was told.

But the same court had already been told that the little girl had more than 100 injuries on her tiny body.

And computer images depicting the injuries were released by the prosecution, after an application by The Examiner to the trial judge.

Anwar and Sanam’s mother Zahbeena Navsarka, both 21, of Riddings Road, Deighton, deny murdering the infant.

Sanam died aged two years and four months on May 8. Some 107 injuries were found on her body including broken arms and legs.

At Bradford Crown Court yesterday, jurors heard Anwar had told an emergency operator that Sanam had been in the bath and had stopped breathing.

A post-mortem ruled out drowning as a cause of the toddler’s death.
