Zoe Lucker opens Kirkburton hair salon

IT’S exactly the kind of place you might expect to find a wag of Tanya Turner’s calibre.

So Huddersfield actress Zoe Lucker, who played the Footballers’ Wives super-bitch, was right at home when she visited a swanky Kirkburton hair and beauty salon.

Zoe, 34, was at Richard Charles Hair Design on North Road for the official opening party yesterday.

The salon has been closed for about three weeks for a £120,000 makeover.

Kitted out with all the luxurious decor and furnishings any self-respecting wag would demand, it also now offers a range of celebrity-style treatments, including permanent hair removal and botox.

Zoe, who is from Lindley but now lives in Surrey with her fiance, film editor Jim Herbert, has been a friend of owner Richard Hirst for about five years.

She said: “We’ve been good friends for ages and have been on holiday together.

“Whenever I was in Yorkshire Richard would do my hair, but I’ve not had the chance to see him for a while.

“I’d transport him down to Surrey every time I needed my hair doing if I could!

“I wanted to come back and see what he had done with the place.

“The old salon was a bit smaller and didn’t have as many treatments to offer. I love what Richard has done – it’s the nearest thing to a salon like this that I’ve seen outside London.”

Richard, who has 14 staff, said: “We wanted to create a town centre salon in a village location.
