Greenhead College students gain top grades for new qualification
STUDENTS at Greenhead College have become among the first in the country to gain A* grades for a new qualification.
Paul McGenity and Emily Anderson were among 50 students to gain the top award for their 5,000 word projects on engineering and Shakespearean tragedy.
And Laura Scarff gained an A grade for her work on genetically modified crops.
The A level students were the second group at the college to be entered for the new City and Guilds Project Qualification in November. It is equivalent to half an A level.
The unique qualification gives students the chance to choose and manage an independent study topic .
