A CANCER charity is £1,500 better off – thanks to Holmfirth Rotary Club.

A cheque for that amount was handed over to Yorkshire Cancer Research after a year of fundraising by the club.

Their efforts included a bonfire at Sands, a golf day at Meltham and various raffles.

The money was given to the charity by Holmfirth Rotary president Martin Rodgers.
