A MAN, who was beaten and robbed at knifepoint, had to wait more than 14 hours for police to show.
Darren Brian, 30, of Lowerhouses, was threatened with a knife and punched 30 times by four youths at Fanny Moor Lane, Longley, at around 8.20pm on January 16.
The thugs made off with Mr Brian’s mobile phone and some change.
The father-of-two called the police at 8.30pm, but despite repeated calls no officer attended his house until 10.50am the next day.
Mr Brian said: “It was absolutely ridiculous. I rang the police several times, but they kept saying they’d been called to other incidents. It was a pretty poor show.
“The one with the knife kept saying he was going to kill me. Obviously I was very scared.
“He jumped on my back and I managed to throw him off, but one then got my phone.”
