Rumours surround closed Marsh House pub
A PUB with a chequered past has closed again – and it may be for good.
The Marsh House, in Marsh, is boarded up and for sale.
There were rumours it had been sold and would be turned into an Indian restaurant.
But Leeds estate agents Fleurets said the Westbourne Road pub was still on the market.
The asking price is £195,000, plus VAT, including contents.
A spokeswoman for Punch Taverns, which owns the pub, said: “It is always our priority to keep our pubs trading as pubs, but we do review our estate to ensure they are maximising their potential.
“Following a review we have taken the decision to put the Marsh House on the market.
“We remain committed to the future of our pubs in Huddersfield and have some excellent sites, including the Black Bull and the Royal in Kirkburton.
“We will continue to invest in the area and support our licensees to help them build successful, sustainable businesses.”
