Age Concern Kirklees shop for sale

A FOR Sale sign has now gone up at the Huddersfield Age Concern shop.

Three months after the charity shop closed its doors for good, the building is up for sale.

Boultons estate agent is offering the 22 Cross Church Street premises for sale at its local branch.

The guide price for the building is from £100,000 to £150,000.

The Age Concern office next door at number 24 Cross Church Street will remain open after Age Concern Calderdale stepped in to save the service.

Age Concern Kirklees announced it was closing last November, putting 70 people in fear for their jobs.

At the time bosses said it was no longer viable to keep it running due to a decline in income and increasing costs.

The shop closed mid-November and has been vacant since.

Details of the Grade II listed shop are available from the estate agent which describes the shop as being in a “good secondary position with regular pedestrian footfall between Kingsgate shopping centre and the market area.”
