A SCREENWRITING student from Huddersfield has landed his first professional film contract.
Martin Stocks, 22, a final year film and television screenwriting undergraduate, used his networking skills to scoop a contract for a gas safety film.
The £10,000 film, funded by The Guinness Trust, will be delivered to thousands of homes throughout Lancashire.
The former pupil of Shelley College, now a student at the University of Central Lancashire, said: “To receive a project like this for my first professional job is very exciting.
“I heard about it through a friend of a friend, got in touch with the director and pitched an idea to him.
“They wanted a short comedy film to get the message across to highlight this serious issue.
