London Marathon: Mum Jane Stansfield runs for West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust years after beating cancer
TWO years ago Jane Stansfield beat breast cancer.
Now she is donning her trainers and running 26 miles for charity.
Jane, a mother-of-two from Wilshaw, ran her first London Marathon in 2007 – seven months after winning her fight against breast cancer.
But she is lining up for her second marathon and is running for the Brackenhall children’s hospice appeal, the West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust
Jane, 44, said: “It is something I always wanted to do and having treatment for cancer spurred me on.
“I ran the Race for Life with a friend and thought that if we could do 5k then 26 miles wouldn’t be too hard – or so we thought.
“I was meant to do the 2006 race, but I had to withdraw because of my cancer treatment after I was diagnosed at the end of December 2005.”
Her bosses at Scissett firm Seatable UK, where Jane works as a buying assistant, kick-started her fundraising by donating £250.
