Investigations into Huddersfield town centre shootings continue

POLICE have yet to charge anyone over two shootings in two weeks in Huddersfield town centre.

A 22-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman were shot in the same incident in the early hours of Saturday, December 20.

It happened after an altercation between a man and a three-strong gang – one of them armed with a handgun – in a takeaway on Northumberland Street.

Det Insp Phil Benson said: “Three men were arrested in connection with this incident on December 30 and, of these, two are still on bail, while the third man was released without charge.

“We are actively pursuing a number of enquiries in to this incident and are still appealing for anyone with any information to contact us.”
