MURDER squad detectives are struggling for a breakthrough in the hunt for the gunman who shot dead Jasem Asakerh.
Detectives are no closer to catching the masked man who killed the 28-year-old two weeks ago tomorrow.
Mr Asakerh, who moved to the UK from Iran in 2003, was shot as he sat in the back of an Audi Q7 car on Brook Street, Thornton Lodge, on April 3.
He died from a single bullet wound to the chest.
Police have said Mr Asakerh, nicknamed ‘Mo’, was known to them before his death and are looking into his criminal background for possible clues to the identity of his killer.
They have made high-profile appeals for information and have issued CCTV pictures of the Audi in and around Huddersfield town centre in the hours before the shooting.
But Det Supt Steve Payne, who is leading the inquiry, said his team was still waiting for the crucial lead.
He said: “We are continuing to look into the background of the deceased and his known associates.
