A PROUD Argentinian restaurant owner has named a brand new dish in honour of a champion golfer.
Argentinian born Robert Mellman, the owner of Argento Steak House on John William Street, has created a special dish to mark the victory of his countryman, Angel Pato Cabrera in last weekend’s American Masters at Augusta.
The 39-year-old came from two shots down with two to play to draw level with Americans Chad Campbell and Kenny Perry.
He then won the three-way sudden death play-off to win the prestigious tournament for the first time and can now call himself South America’s most successful-ever golfer.
Robert, who first moved to Huddersfield from Argentina 25 years ago, said he was chatting with his brother-in-law, successful amateur golfer and regular Examiner Match Play finalist, Jonanthan Hayes, when he came up with the idea.
He said: “We were talking and we said if (Cabrera) wins it we would do a dish.
