Police smash £1m drugs ring
A £1M drugs ring has been smashed – by police who stopped a man on a scooter.
The officers were travelling back from Huddersfield to Dewsbury when they pulled over a 42-year-old man on Highgate Lane, Mirfield.
They arrested him after finding two big bags of cannabis and amphetamine stashed on the scooter.
Police then raided a house in Headfield Road, Dewsbury, and recovered drugs estimated to have a street value of £1.2m.
A 23-year-old man was also arrested from outside the house.
He was charged with possession with intent to supply cannabis and cocaine.
The 42-year-old man was charged with possession with intent to supply cannabis and amphetamine.
He has also been charged with money laundering offences. Both are to appear in court at a later date.
