Shahid Malik hosts St George’s Day event in Emley
AN MP has celebrated St George’s Day with people he hopes will be his future constituents.
Dewsbury MP Shahid Malik hosted the coffee morning at Emley Methodist Church on Saturday to celebrate England’s national day. In 2006 the Labour man tried to get St George’s Day made into a public holiday. The boundaries of the Dewsbury constituency will change at the next general election to take in Emley and other villages around Denby Dale and Kirkburton.
