Kirkheaton man sexually abused young boy
May 8 2009 By Neil Atkinson
A PAEDOPHILE sexually abused a young boy and downloaded more than 20,000 indecent images of youngsters from the internet, a court was told.
Now Paul Rapson, of Kirkheaton, has been warned he faces a lengthy prison sentence.
Rapson, of Moorside Road, pleaded guilty to a series of offences when he appeared in custody before a judge at Bradford Crown Court yesterday.
Rapson, who had no previous convictions, admitted taking 13 indecent photographs of unknown youngsters in public between January 2003 and July last year.
Judge Jonathan Rose told Rapson that his case would be adjourned until July 17 so that reports could be prepared about him.
But he warned the 37-year-old that he could face a prison sentence for public protection if he was assessed as posing a danger.
Rapson pleaded guilty yesterday to three charges of sexual assault on a boy, who cannot be identified for legal reasons.
