KIRKLEES louts are being warned: “We are watching you.”
New CCTV technology has been installed in Berry Brow, Batley and Dewsbury as part of a move by Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing to target crime and anti-social behaviour.
The devices are being run by a new state-of-the-art control room in Berry Brow.
The unit is designed to provide full concierge and CCTV monitoring services 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Specially-trained staff will manage the technology which includes digital recording and reviewing facilities.
The cameras are also able to film at night and have been set with special privacy zones to make sure they do not look into residents’ windows.
The monitoring screens are programmed to alert the operator when they detect movement.
Now high quality images can be produced to easily identify criminals.
KNH chief executive Simon Rogers said: “We want to make sure that our estates are places where people feel safe and secure.
