Man rang 999 before Fartown stabbing - but told not an emergency

The following day John saw police outside the block of flats.

A 59-year-old man was found with multiple stab wounds and was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.

He is now said to be in a stable condition.

The victim was able to speak to police but his memory of the incident is unclear.

West Yorkshire police are investigating John’s claims that he dialled 999 on Friday night to tell them about a knifeman.
