Auditions beckon for Forget Me Not Trust show

A DAY of wacky, weird and hopefully wonderful entertainers, will raise money to help build a new children’s hospice in Huddersfield.

A Britain’s Got Talent type show is being staged by the West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust.

And auditions are being held on Saturday at St Francis’ Church, Fixby, from 10.15am until 2.20pm.

The winners will appear on stage at a variety show in aid of the hospice in the summer.

Dubbed the Forget Me Not Factor, judges will include ex-Pennine Radio DJ Will Smith and star of the local stage, Doreen France.

And they’re hoping for a galaxy of stars showing off their talent, from singers to martial arts performers and magicians.

Doreen France has been organising shows t the Lawrence Batley Theatre through her dancing school for more than 20 years.

She said: "I’ve been involved in variety all my life and have worked in acting, singing and dancing.

"I am hoping for some nice surprises this weekend, but also acts who will bring something very different.

"It will be lovely if we can find someone special.

"But also we’d love to get an audience down to watch because the audience support really does make it special."
