Huddersfield Town and Leeds United fans in court over football violence

EIGHT men have been charged over Valentine’s Day violence sparked by Huddersfield Town’s clash with Leeds United.
The men – believed to be seven Town fans and a Leeds fan – are charged with violent disorder in Huddersfield town centre on Saturday, February 14.
Officers were called to Cross Church Street, Byram Street, John William Street and Westgate to deal with a number of incidents.
Investigations using CCTV footage led to the arrests of the men, who have now been charged and bailed to appear at Huddersfield Magistrates’ Court on June 5.
But police are still looking for four men pictured in CCTV images printed in Saturday’s Examiner.
Police issued warnings before the match, which Town won 1-0, that they would come down hard on troublemakers.
