Special beds for disabled thanks to Holme Valley masons
SEVERELY disabled young adults are set to get a better night’s sleep, thanks to the masons.
Members of the Holme Valley Masonic Lodge visited the Holly Bank Trust’s new care home near Holmfirth to present a cheque for £5,000.
The trust already has a care home and special school for youngsters in Mirfield but is now on the brink of launching its purpose-built home for young adults, Rowan Court, on the premises of the Holme Valley Memorial Hospital.
The home, due to open in the next few months, will look after people with complex and profound disabilities and learning difficulties and needs 15 special £2,500 electronically adjustable Thera Posture beds.
The donation was presented by John Green, the Charity Steward of Holme Valley Lodge, and lodge member Lee Puttick, on behalf of the Provincial Grand Masters Fund for the West Riding of Yorkshire.
Mr Green said: “It’s an excellent set up there and we’re delighted to play a small part in contributing to these special beds.”
