Chapel Hill stabbing link to murder quiz

AN ELDERLY woman from Wakefield whose death led to an arrest in Huddersfield had been stabbed to death.

A post mortem carried out on Margaret Hartley, 77, revealed she died from multiple stab wounds. Mrs Hartley, a widow, was found in her house in Horbury on Friday.

A 41-year-old was arrested on Chapel Hill near Huddersfield town centre on suspicion of murder shortly afterwards.

She had non-life threatening stab wounds and has been detained at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary under the Mental Health Act.

Police enquiries are continuing.
