May 22 2009 By Andrew Hirst
COUNTER terrorist officers have swooped on a house in Kirklees.
The home on Colbeck Terrace in the Healey area of Batley was sealed off yesterday (Thurs) afternoon and army experts are believed to have been called to the scene.
A 38-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of firearms offences.
A spokeswoman for the Counter Terrorism Unit in West Yorkshire said: "This is part of an ongoing investigation and following searches of the property by forensic teams we have recovered a range of potentially dangerous items.
"Specialist teams have been called in to arrange for their removal.''
But she stressed: "The property is not believed to be of any risk to local residents.''
The man is being questioned at a police station in West Yorkshire.
