Royds Hall High School students win awards for achievements in maths and science
STUDENTS at Royds Hall High and its ‘partner’ schools have been recognised for achievements in science and maths.
More than 60 trophies were presented in science and maths to students at Royds Hall and feeder schools of Paddock, Crow Lane Primary, Spring Grove Primary, Cowlersley Primary and Reinwood Primary, as well as sixth-formers at Greenhead and Huddersfield New College.
The event was attended by special guest Dr Jeremy Hopwood, of Huddersfield University’s department of chemical and biological sciences, and former Royds Hall students.
Students from the two sixth-form colleges and Huddersfield University gave a presentation about their studies in science and their future career plans and parents and pupils took part in a series of workshops on topics such as rocket-making, a planetarium, maths and computer programming.
The evening was attended by 200 people.
