JOE Taylor has only been rallying for a year but he’s already scooped a win.
The 23-year-old from Longwood came first in his class at the Formula 1000 races in Anglesey.
He’s now setting his sights on winning at the championships in Blackpool later this month.
The engineer said: “I’ve always had an interest in cars and my previous job was a car mechanic.
“My dad did it when he was my age and I joined a local motor club.”
Joe is a member of David Brown Motor Club and travels across the country to compete in the budget car races on tarmac.
He said he has made a lot of friends over the past year.
The Formula 1000 Rally club was set up as a cheap motor rally sport.
Joe said winning was about the standard of driving, rather than the quality of the cars.
