Sunday lunch event at CragRats Brasserie raises £800 each for Kirkwood Hospice and West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust
A SUNDAY lunch with a twist has raised £1,600 for two Huddersfield charities.
Upper Cumberworth man Steven Chappelow held the lunch for 94 people at CragRats Brasserie in Hepworth on May 17.
There was a champagne reception, music from Meltham Brass Band, close-up magic and a raffle.
The event raised £1,600, with £800 each going to Kirkwood Hospice and West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust.
It is the second charity event Steven has organised. The first was a Christmas event last December, raising £1,440 for Kirkwood Hospice.
Steven’s fundraising began after his partner and three of his friends died from cancer. One had spent time in Kirkwood Hospice.
He is planning another event in September at CragRats, for a different charity.
He is also planning a carol concert for 500 people at his home in December, to raise funds for Kirkwood Hospice.
