School prom costs are in hundreds

“Events organised to raise funds have included sponsored walks, sleepovers, cake sales, car boot sale and a sponsored slim by head of drama Lucy Eastwood and educational teaching assistant Helen McCaherty”.

A £20 ticket price will now include transport in limousines, food and entertainment at the venue.

But dresses, hair and make-up for the girls and tuxedoes for the boys will all bump up the cost.

A Prom Queen and Prom King will be chosen on the night.

“The boys often go to town on their outfits as much as the girls,” Sam added.

“We have had them buying corsages and one boy even wore a pink suit one year!”
