Quarry Garage puts up £5,000 reward to catch test drive conman

He has not been seen or heard from since.

Mr Hainsworth said: "He came in on the Tuesday and asked to have a look at the car.

"We gave him the keys and he looked around inside but gave the keys back and left.

"Then he came back on the Wednesday and asked if he could have another look.

"He seemed really interested. But as soon as he had got the keys he got in the car and drove off.

"We just couldn’t believe what was happening."

A West Yorkshire police spokeswoman said the matter was being investigated.

She said: "Enquiries are continuing and we would like to speak to any witnesses or anyone with information."

The man was between 30 and 35 years old, 5ft 11ins tall and slim.

He had mousey coloured, crew-cut style hair.
