Batley man appears at Old Bailey on terrorism charges

A BATLEY man has been remanded in custody on terrorism charges.

Terrence Robert Gavan, 38, of Colbeck Terrace, appeared at the Old Bailey on June 5, accused of having weapons and having or collecting information which could be useful to a terrorist.

He was charged under Section 58 of the Terrorism Act.

He was also charged with five offences under the Firearms Act of possessing prohibited weapons and four counts of possessing explosives.

Gavan, who was arrested in May, has been remanded in custody until a hearing on October 2.
