PASSENGERS escaped serious injury when two buses crashed in Meltham.
One bus ploughed through gardens at Helme Lane after the collision.
Residents’ phone lines were damaged in the crash at around 10am yesterday.
It is believed the large single-deck First bus on the 324 route collided with the front nearside of a smaller 933 K-Line bus as the K-Line service pulled out of Highfield Road towards the B6107 Slaithwaite Road.
Witnesses say the First bus veered into three gardens at Helme Lane, striking a lamppost, two trees, bins, a car, a caravan and several fences.
The crash tore up cables, leaving residents without a phone line.
