Mum's warning on pimps after 14-year-old daughter falls into life of vice

A DISTRAUGHT Huddersfield mum is warning parents about pimps preying on young girls in town.

The woman says her 14-year-old daughter’s life was ruined by the predators.

The 41-year-old believes her daughter and friends are being used by a circle of men in the area for sex and money.

She said the callous men initially befriend the vulnerable and naive girls and gain their trust.

They then begin abusing them for their own gain.

Now the girl and her family, who cannot be identified, have been given help by the Coalition for the Removal of Pimping .

The group supports several families in the area after investigations into alleged "grooming".

The mum said she first began to worry when there was a distinct change in her 14-year-old daughter’s behaviour.

She had started skipping school, staying out all night, and getting dropped off in different cars when she was drunk.

The mum-of-three said: "She had never missed a day of school before – but her exams went down the pan and she was thrown out of college.

"These girls change completely, they start skipping school and wearing lots of make-up. My daughter started wearing big hoop earrings."

She said she believed her daughter thinks one of the men is her boyfriend.

She said: "They groom them in shopping centres or in town and often it starts with a younger man who is a similar age.

"But it’s a whole group of men that start making money out of them – drugs money and prostitution money which the girls never see.

"She’s 17 now and the police cannot do anything because she’s over 16.

"These girls won’t stand up in court against these men."
