Grants still available for recession busting organisations

GRANTS for organisations providing credit crunch support are still up for grabs.

And Kirklees is eligible for a £406,000 slice of the Target Support Fund provided by the Office of the Third Sector (OTS) to help those at greatest risk from the recession.

But the grants, of between £10,000 and £40,000, are only available for just over two weeks.

The cash, to be awarded by Community Foundation for Calderdale (CFFC), is available to organisations in Kirklees which aim to provide recession related support.

Groups, which receive a total annual income between £30,000 and £250,000 and provide either information, advice, employment, training or health services, are eligible.

Priority will be given to organisations who can demonstrate demand for their services has increased due to economic downturn. Successful applicants will receive their grants in September.

To apply visit www.cffc.co.uk or call 01422 438738 for an application pack. The deadline for completed applications is June 29.

CFFC grants officer Mark Fleetwood said: “I would really like to urge groups to apply for this funding.

“It’s fantastic the OTS is giving this support and groups must make sure they use this money rather than lose it.”
