From church panto to the fringe festival

HE began acting in church pantomimes but now he’ll perform on an international stage.
Paul Booth, of Quarmby, will perform a play he wrote to audiences at the Edinburgh Festival this August.
The former St Mark’s Church Players member will act out ‘Don’t Forget to Breathe’ with drama school friend Claire Reiv.
Paul owes many thanks to St Mark’s Church Players who have helped him reach his goal and sponsored him £200 to produce the play.
It’s the first of Paul’s plays to be produced, and he told the Examiner he’s excited about the big break.
The 28-year-old actor said: “It’s a two-hander set in a train station exploring the question – can a stranger change your life forever?”
Paul has been involved with the Longwood amateur dramatics group since he was just 12-years-old.
The former Royds Hall High School pupil said:“They believe it’s important to nurture actors that have gone through the ranks.”
