Summer IS on the way for Huddersfield

AFTER a few miserable days of weather, many of us are wondering what’s happened to the summer.

But Huddersfield weatherman Paul Stevens is assuring locals they don’t need to put away the barbecues just yet.

According to the Salendine Nook meteorologist, the great summer weather experts have been predicting really is just around the corner– we’ve just got to get through a few more rainy days first.

He said: "People keep asking me when is the summer starting and I tell them it’s still coming!

"We have been getting a few days of sunshine followed by rain, but that’s normal for this time of year.

"It’s called the ‘June Monsoon’, which means we’re getting the jet stream bringing the rain and unsettled weather for a couple of weeks.

"But the Met Office is right to predict a barbecue summer– we’ve just got to put up with a bit more unsettled weather."

Paul says that over the next seven to 10 days the weather will remain unsettled with some showers and possible thunderstorms.

But the weather will also become warmer and milder.
