Almondbury houses to join insulation scheme

FREE home insulation scheme Kirklees Warm Zone is to start visiting Almondbury homes this month.
The Kirklees Council-backed project is visiting every home in Kirklees on a ward by ward, street by street basis.
Local residents will be offered free cavity wall and loft insulation, subject to a survey, free energy saving light bulbs, a home energy report and a free carbon monoxide detector.
The project is designed to help people feel warmer and more comfortable in their homes and save money on their fuel bills.
Over the past two-and-a-half years Kirklees Warm Zone has insulated more than 29,000 homes free of charge.
Dalton resident Jackie Marshall had cavity wall insulation installed through the scheme and claimed she had already felt a big difference.
She said: "I now turn my boiler down as the house keeps the heat in. The whole place is now very warm!"
