Huddersfield Choral Society’s third CD recording

HUDDERSFIELD’S world- famous Choral Society is going global.

The renowned choir has just recorded its third CD.

And the recording, made in Huddersfield, is set for release across the world later this year.

Huddersfield Choral Society joined forces with their Youth Choir and Chamber Choir to record Stainer’s Crucifixion.

The Society’s organist and choirmaster Jim Cowell said: "It went extremely well and was an enjoyable experience for all.

"It is of course hard work and can be tiring doing all the different takes to make sure it is perfect, but everyone was good humoured and it was a wonderful experience."

The Choral Society was joined by the junior section, which has some solo parts in the recording but also joined in with their older counterparts.

Mr Cowell added: "The junior sections thoroughly enjoyed it and the atmosphere over the weekend was excellent.

"We had a superb production team throughout the recording who really were first-class and guided us perfectly."

The recording was done on Saturday and Sunday at Huddersfield Town Hall.
