Suleman Khan jailed for murder of former Elland pupil Amy Booth

THE ex-boyfriend of former Elland student Amy Booth has been jailed for a minimum of 20 years for her brutal murder last year.

Suleman Khan was sentenced to life imprisonment yesterday after a jury found him guilty of the shocking murder following a trial at Bradford Crown Court.

The 24-year-old had previously served a five-month prison sentence in 2007 for assaulting Amy, who attended Brooksbank School, Elland.

Miss Booth suffered serious head injuries when she was stamped on and kicked repeatedly by Khan during a late-night attack at her flat in New Road, Halifax, last December. She survived in hospital for 21 days before dying from her injuries.
