Dean Hoyle’s joy at 232-mile bike Town trip

TOWN chairman Dean Hoyle is going to be saddle-sore!

The fixture computer has decided that Southend United is the destination for Huddersfield Town’s first game of next season – and Hoyle has pledged to cycle there in support of the Keep It Up campaign.

Hoyle will be joined by Commercial Director Sean Jarvis and matchday announcer Paul Ramsden on the 232 mile journey as he aims to raise funds for the campaign, which supports the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the Huddersfield Town Academy.

Supporters of the Club have been donating money to the cause for weeks through one of several methods – either visit www.keepitup.org.uk and click ‘donate now’, visit www.htafc.com to download a sponsorship and donation form or text ‘84010’ from your mobile phone to donate £3 to the campaign.

Hoyle said: “I guaranteed that we would cycle to our first away game of the 2009/10 season and now that we know the destination is Southend United, I hope that fans and all Yorkshire people will back us as we try and raise money for the ‘Keep It Up’ campaign.

“It is a very worthy cause, as it costs £7,200 to keep the two Yorkshire Air Ambulances up in the air each day.”
