Mum’s thank you to mystery donor

SHE’S given them renewed hope.
A big-hearted Huddersfield woman has donated £588.20 to a grieving family in their quest for justice.
The kind woman, who has chosen to remain anonymous, gifted the cheque to the parents of crash victims Jade Rice and Daniel Atkinson.
She had read the family’s story in the Examiner and was compelled to help.
Jade and Daniel died in the early hours of January 29, 2006, when the car they were passengers in hit a tree and then a lamp-post on Bradley Road.
The teenagers were living in Aspirations’ accommodation, designed to support young people leaving local authority care.
The driver, Mohammed Tanwir, was employed as a ‘sleep in’ worker at the time at an address in Sherwood Avenue, Bradley.
The case of dangerous driving against Mr Tanwir was never heard in court due to insufficient evidence.
But an inquest into the teenagers’ deaths ruled a verdict of ‘unlawful killing’.
Mum Elaine Noble, of Halifax, needed the transcript to provide key evidence for a prosecution against the driver of the car but couldn’t afford it.
Elaine said: “I would like to thank the lady who’s made it possible for us to move on to the next stage.
The 50-year-old said: “I wonder if she or someone else close to her has ever gone through something like this.
“It could even be she has followed the case and has the ability to put herself in our places.
“Whatever the lady’s reasons and no matter what comes out of all this we are very grateful.
