A spokesman for Kirklees Council said: “The representation period is the final opportunity for people and organisations to express their views about the proposals. All representations made during this period will be taken into account by Kirklees cabinet when making their decision.
“The proposals to enlarge The Mirfield Free Grammar and Sixth Form and to discontinue Castle Hall School are integral to the strategic plan for provision in north Kirklees to use the opportunity provided by the national Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme to significantly improve and enhance the overall educational opportunities and achievements of all young people.”
A decision on Castle Hall’s future is expected to be made in September.
