Huddersfield theatre producer launches bid to take on CragRats brand

“I would initially look at running the business alone, employing staff as and when it becomes financially viable.
“I’m not making an offer for the books, it’s purely the brand name I’m after.
“I’m not looking to save everybody’s jobs, but I do want to continue all the good work they have done over the last 20 years.”
Mr Hughes, a freelance producer for the last 13 years, also promised to involve the local community in the future of the business and said he would consider offering the company’s existing creditors a share in the newly-formed company.
A spokeswoman for CragRats’ administrators, Ernst and Young, acknowledged the offer, but said they had received a number of offers for various parts of the Dunford Road business and could not comment any further.
