Man offers reward for return of ring lost at Huddersfield bar’s foam party

A PARTYGOER who lost a cherished piece of jewellery at a Huddersfield bar is offering a reward for its return.

Matthew Schembri, 24, is offering £400 for the return of a graduation ring given to him by his parents.

He lost it while attending a foam party at Flying Circus on Wednesday.

Matthew, lives in Perth in Australia, and is in Huddersfield visiting family and friends for several weeks.

He said: “The ring must have slipped off while I was in the foam. It’s worth about £300 in terms of its weight – it’s 16g of 18 carat gold.

“But it’s more valuable to me sentimentally.”

The ring was given to Matthew by his parents Jane and Joseph, of Lindley, when he graduated from Leicester University two years ago.

He went to live in Australia a year ago, working as a geologist in gold mines.

He is due to return to Australia on Sunday, July 5.

He said: “The clock is ticking to get the ring back. It will be devastating if I lose it for good.
